Police Uniform History
As a Law Enforcement historian, I've made it a point to educate the public about how our professions past has shaped what kind of agencies and law officers we now have. One of the first things people, especially kids, notice about law enforcement is the uniforms: the patches, the badges, the pins, etc. As a way to bring people into the conversation and discuss the history of the profession, I find it best to also show them the history of the uniforms, and this site is dedicated to educating and preserving those items.
I've been collecting police patches, badges, and other uniform items since I was a CSO at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, in 2001. I currently work for San Diego PD. I used to collect items from all over California, but I've decided that due to time and money constraints that I'm only going to focus on the departments I have worked for, California State University Police, Cuesta College Police, and San Diego Police. I've gotten to a point where I have a really great collection from those agencies, so I'm looking for badges and patches that I don't have to fill in the holes, and I'm selling patches and badges from all other agencies.
Please feel free to take a look around. If you would like a to borrow a picture, please make to to ask me first. Thanks!
